A file is considered print ready when received in .pdf format, in CMYK colours, with crop marks. Common mistakes are: file is not a .pdf; file is designed with RGB or SPOT colours; or the file lacks proper bleed (area for images that extend to the edge of a page).
CMYK is an acronym that stands for: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Key (Black). These four colours are used in printing in a subtractive process to create all colours for printing.
RGB is an acronym that stands for: Red, Green, Blue. These three colours are used in an additive light process for projecting colour on a screen.
Standard bleed area is 1/8 (.125) inches (approx. 3mm).
A vector graphic is essentially a mathematical formula for creating lines and shapes on a computer. Most company logos are a vector file, and can be scaled to any size without loss of quality. Common vector graphic file formats are: .ai; .eps; .pdf. This is in contrast to a raster graphic.
A raster graphic is an array of pixels of various colours that form an image. These files are commonly created by digital cameras and photograph scanners. Common raster graphic file formats are: .jpg; .tif; .psd; .gif

My company works exclusively with Pivad Design for all our design projects. We absolutely love our logo, the design process was effortless, and the care we received was refreshingly rewarding. When we have clients come to us to order merchandise and find that they need design work done beforehand, Pivad always gets it done quickly no matter how rushed we are. We couldn't be happier with the quality of service we get with Pivad!
